Life in Post Pandemic World – A Pos-Poss Talk by Dr Sashi Tharoor

Covid 19 catastrophe has proven that the human race is enfeeble, vulnerable and the post pandemic world is infused with muddles and uncertainty. Dr. Shashi Tharoor, world renowned author, former diplomat and present member of parliament called upon the young to rise to the occasion, seek commitment and to address the acute leadership deficiency that the world is currently facing. Dr Tharoor expounded about life in the post pandemic world as he addressed the second pos-poss Global talk organised by Mission Better tomorrow ( MBT ) on Friday 15^th January.

P Vijayan IPS,Inspector General of Police and a humanitarian who bestowed the title Indian of the year 2014 kick started the talk by presenting his broader vision about the post pandemic period,he shared his ideologies, hopes, fears and wishes. He shared his outlook on survival mechanisms, gender disparity and the need for a universalist safety net. He entreats mankind to predict the unpredictable and with positivity and possibility, one could withstand any unseen enemy.

“Leadership is not an abstract context applicable only to Prime ministers and Presidents”, Dr Tharoor elucidated that “ leadership is about solving problems and making a difference, everyone of us is a leader in our own community, family, or home”.

Upon further intriguing interaction , Mr T Haridas , a retired senior administrative officer and a veteran in the High commission of India asked a conspicuous question to the wizard of words about the changes in the growth trajectory of India in the post pandemic world to which Dr Tharoor elaborated his futuristic hope that India need to recover from the mismanagement of the economy like demonetisation and would cease some of the best opportunities moving forward.

Mr. Saif Muhammed( Chief Executive officer, MBT) and Mr Anand Haridas were the chief presenters of the session. Avani, Geroge Padickakudy, Shaji Philip and Mr Anandha Mani were the other prominent speakers of the session.
